FAQ's FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TRADEMARK APPLICATION

1. How Many Classes can be included in one application?
Only One class per trademark  per application.  If you are registering the trade mark DOE in classes 3, 29 and 32, you need to file 3 applications.

2. Can I include the word mark and logo in the same application?
Yes.  But you need to send the graphic in JPEG format.

3. Can I file an "Intent To Use" application?
Yes.

4. What would be my registration date?
The date of filing.

5. Do I need to send a Power of Attorney?
Our firm requires that you sign our Power of Attorney, but no notarization needed.

6. What languages does your register accepts?
Both English or Spanish

7. What classes classifications do you use?
The standard Nice international classes for identification of goods and services

8. What can be registered in your country?
Almost everything, including words, numbers, letters, graphics, sound, forms, smell, colors, fragrance, movement, and 3D forms.

9. What specimens do you need for product and services?
For products: originals of labels, tags, picture of imprint and the like. No business cards, ads, price list, directories, catalogs.
For services: print out of advertising of services, webpage, Ads and the like. No Press Releases, Articles or News

10. What is the price range for Trademark Application for Puerto Rico?
Application: Between $750 - $850 per trademark/ per class/ per application.
Includes one answer to official action, costs and publication.
Cert of Use: $200 per trademark/ per class/ per application

Federal Registration before the USPTO:  $1450. per trademark/ one class

11. What do you need to give final quote for your services?
Fill the Quote Form at the left and send it to services@cabrera-rico.com
If other than Puerto Rico, include the specific country.

12. Do we need to conduct a TM search before filing?
Yes, we recommend it and we charge $50.00  but is limited to registered trademarks.
We can't guarantee there will be no pending conflicting marks, so there is some risk here.
Our register does not have a searchable database for pending applications.

13. What do you need to start application?
TM Data Collection form, Power of Attorney, TM drawing, Specimens (if in use) and Payment.
